Risikopræmie
Den del af forsikringskundens betaling til instituttet, der modsvarer den risiko, instituttet påtager sig, f.eks. risikoen for at forsikringstageren bliver uarbejdsdygtig (invalid). Risikoen består i, at instituttet kommer til at betale mere ud (i forsikringsudbetalinger), end kunderne har indbetalt i præmie. Af forsigtighedsgrunde vil risikopræmien altid være fastsat noget over den statistiske sandsynlighed for at forsikringsbegivenheden indtræder. I nogle ordninger vil selskabet hvert år opgøre hvor meget der er udbetalt til risikodækninger og hvor meget der er indbetalt i risikopræmier. Herefter tilskrives overskuddet de enkelte pensionsordninger som risikobonus.
